The North Tongu District Commissioned a CHPS Compound at Deve on 25th April, 2019. The program was attended by a cross-section of people including the District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Tongu, Hon. Richard Collins Arku, The Acting District Coordinating Director, Mr. Prosper Agbenyo, The District Planning Officer, Madam Stella E. Kpodo, The District Engineer, Mr. Ebenezer Adegah, Assembly members, Chiefs and people of Deve.
At the commissioning the District Health Director, Madam. Delali Ofori was very pleased with the facility, she also implored the community to select people from the communities to partake in the training that will make them capable of running the facility. She advised the Deve community to own the facility and collaborate with the Health Directorate to make the CHPS compound achieve its mandate.
The Hon. DCE, Hon. Richard Collins Arku, was hopeful the facility will be converted into a Health Care one day. He implored the Chiefs and people of Deve to wholeheartedly accept the facility and patronize it. He also encouraged men to support their wives in accessing health services and play a supporting role when they are pregnant. Hon. Richard Collins Arku also promised to do something about the roads in Deve, considering that health care can be distorted as a result of poor roads when people cannot access the CHPS compound.
The Chiefs and people of the community then took an opportunity to thank the DCE for the good work he and the Assembly is doing in the district. It was evident from the reaction of the people that they were excited by the project and that the Nana Akuffo Addo led government hasn’t abandoned them.
